![]() of the ones I suggested only AI War remains I guess, and that doesn't have that great a focus on economy. I actually prefer 2D as well usually, but that narrows down the selection of games considerably. There are more games but I dont remember right now, maybe you should check Stronghold if you havent already. I didnt know "Heroes of Annihilated Empire" was available on Steam, I have added to my wishlist. Theres also another game called "America: No Peace Beyond the Line" which is 2D and fun to play but heck theyre NOT ON STEAM and hard to find *sigh* I have played and liked the game called "Alexander" which is made by GSC and is similar to Cossacks except its based on Alexander the Great and Hellenistic period and theres another game called "The Entente" which is WWI rts but has similar features and its a lot fun if you ask me, but sadly theyre not available on Steam and I remember I tried to play The Entente 2 years ago and had problems running on Win7 even with patches, Im also not sure if theres a newer version out there which is compatible with newer OS's. IMO American Conquest & Cossacks series are one of the greatest RTS games ever made to this date with well made 2D graphics and I love the way theyve created unique architecture for every nation, it is just amazing, you wont find this kind of detail in many many games.ĪI is pretty great too (At least for me) you could still have incredible fun playing solo with AI. I generally love 2D isometric games and I have a small collection of 2D games and trying to collect as many as I can. Glad to see there are people who prefer 2D sprites over 3D :) On very easy, it knows it should rush the peasants to capture them.Īnd the mechanisms aren't that simple too, because apparently muskets units can one-shot, but often misses. ![]() I shoulda explained, I meant a focus on economy, yeah, but if possible, with 2D sprites rather than 3D.Īnd American Conquest, I got it, the AI is pretty tricky. I'm assuming you mean RTS games with a focus on economy and that have a large scale.
